Personality: When first introduced during his assignment to Team 7, Sasuke displayed a great indifference to his teammates. Feeling that his abilities were far superior to their own, he was unwilling to cooperate with Naruto Uzumaki or Sakura Haruno, as he felt that doing so would do nothing to help him kill Itachi. These perceptions were quickly proven wrong, however, for, despite their failings, Sakura was an excellent source of information, whilst competition with Naruto acted as an effective way to get stronger. While he retained a confidence in himself throughout the series, Sasuke increasingly relied on his friends over the course of Part I. As he started to get close to others, he also began to risk his own life to save them, even though his death would have left him unable to fulfill his goal of vengeance upon Itachi.
Although Sasuke became content with a life of happiness in Konoha, he never allowed his ambition to gain power to leave his thoughts. During the Chunin Exams, Orochimaru noticed how Sasuke's desire for revenge seemed to have lessened, and branded him with the Cursed Seal of Heaven to give him a taste of the power he could have if he kept to his previous path of vengeance. Even when Kakashi Hatake sealed the Cursed Seal, Sasuke began to draw more and more power from it with the hopes of getting stronger. While initially complacent with his development, Naruto quickly started to grow stronger at a faster rate. This, coupled with his quick defeat by Itachi during a brief return to Konoha, led Sasuke to believe that his growth was slowing. In an attempt to reassess his strength, he began to treat his friends as opponents so as to test his abilities against their own. Dissatisfied with his progress in Konoha, and believing that Orochimaru held the key to getting strong enough to kill Itachi, Sasuke defected from Konoha at the end of Part I. Naruto attempted to stop him, but Sasuke, believing the death of Naruto, his closest friend, would give him the power he desired (as he had been told by Itachi), tried to kill him instead. However, Sasuke was ultimately unable to follow through with this idea, as he felt that this was what Itachi would have wanted him to do, and instead continued on to Orochimaru.
In Part II, Sasuke showed that he had stayed true to his original personality. In the two and a half years he spent with Orochimaru, Sasuke's goal to kill Itachi took precedence above all else; he even claimed that he was willing to give his body to Orochimaru if it meant killing Itachi, but later turned on Orochimaru after reaching the conclusion that he could learn nothing else of value from him. Despite this lack of allegiance to those close to him, Sasuke seemed to be unable to bring himself to needlessly harm those that had nothing to do with his quest for vengeance against Itachi. He made it a point to prevent their deaths when possible.[1] However, this attitude has changed after achieving his goal of bringing about Itachi's death. After learning how his brother had been manipulated by Konoha's higher-ups, Sasuke abandoned all of his hatred for Itachi, and resolved to destroy all of Konoha for both of their sakes, despite the majority of its villagers having had no involvement in the Uchiha massacre. He is also willing to take the lives of anyone who stands in the way of his revenge. However, after Pain's invasion, he seems to have lost interest in attacking the village although he might simply wish to kill Danzo first. Despite ordering Suigetsu not to kill anyone, Sasuke himself has done so after learning the truth.[2]
Unlike most characters in Naruto, Sasuke does not address anyone with honorifics at the end of their names (except to his parents, clanmembers, and Itachi when he was a child), like "Kakashi-sensei" or "Orochimaru-sama", something the Japanese would consider very insulting or rude. According to Kakashi, Sasuke has both a superiority complex and an inferiority complex. Sasuke has been shown as unwilling to acknowledge when he is wrong or out of his league. When Naruto was showing more growth as a ninja in Part I, Sasuke began treating Naruto as an enemy, and kept challenging Naruto to a fight. When he killed Orochimaru in Part II, Sasuke talked down to him for 'robbing the cradle'. Sasuke said that it was the only way Orochimaru could have possibly overpowered an Uchiha. Sasuke also said that the Uchiha clan were the geniuses that put other geniuses to shame.
Overall, Sasuke is extremely prideful and loyal to the Uchiha clan, as he devoted his entire life in avenging their death, abandoning his friends for thinking they held him back, and was willing to kill the one who killed the clan, even though the murder being his brother. Sasuke's loyalty made him unable to forgive Orochimaru for attempting to steal his body, thinking it an insult to the clan's pride. Also, when Sasuke learned the truth from Madara, he was determined to annihilate the entire Konohagakure in revenge, despite most of them are uninvolved in the massacre. After Sasuke's defection from his home village, the only sign he wore was the Uchiha clan's, and refused to wear the Forehead protectors of both the Leaf and sound villages.

Clan History: Before the founding of the ninja villages, the Uchiha were one of the many mercenary clans for hire. Because of their Sharingan, the Uchiha clan came to be known as one of the two strongest clans, the second being the Senju clan. Madara Uchiha was particularly powerful, and, upon attaining the Mangekyo Sharingan, he took control of the clan. Under his leadership the Uchiha grew stronger, conquering whatever clans they came upon, such that, whenever the Uchiha clan was hired for a job, the opposing side would hire the Senju.
Hashirama Senju, the leader of the Senju clan, grew tired of the endless fighting, and approached the Uchiha clan with a peace treaty. Madara feared that an alliance would lead the Uchiha to ruin, but his clan disagreed, and he was forced to accept. The two clans came together to form Konoha, with Hashirama being selected as Hokage. Madara believed that this was proof that the Uchiha would be made subservient to the Senju, but his clan saw this only as his attempt to rekindle the flames of war. They turned their backs on him, and he defected. Following Madara's betrayal, the Second Hokage gave the Uchiha control of the Konoha Military Police as a sign of trust. According to Madara, this was really just a way of keeping the Uchiha in check and out of Konoha's governing affairs.

Decades later, after the Demon Fox Attack of Konoha, Konoha began to suspect that an Uchiha was behind the attack. The Uchiha were relocated to a corner of the village so that they could be more easily monitored. The Uchiha interpreted this as confirmation of what Madara had warned them of years earlier, and began to plan overthrowing the village. One Uchiha, Itachi, disagreed with the coup d'état, and informed Konoha's leadership of what the Uchiha were up to. To prevent an uprising that would create another war, Itachi was ordered to wipe out the Uchiha.
Itachi spared only one Uchiha: his younger brother, Sasuke. Sasuke would spend the next few years trying to avenge their family by killing Itachi, something Itachi had planned for from the very beginning. Once accomplishing this goal, Sasuke learned that Madara was also still alive. Madara told Sasuke about the Uchiha's history and why Itachi had wiped out the Uchiha, prompting Sasuke, with Madara's help, to resolve to destroy Konoha.

Background Information:
Upon the formation of Team 7, Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke were forced to mingle. Sasuke tried to avoid both of them, but he kept getting drawn into Sakura's romantic advances and Naruto's attempts at a competition. Accordingly, Kakashi gave them a bell test, the three of them being tasked with taking the two bells he kept on his person. Sasuke tried to take a bell by himself, ignoring Sakura and Naruto, and had more success than either. He was still unsuccessful, however, and was forced to regroup with his team. Together, they realised that the true goal of the test was to learn to place teamwork above the single-handed completion of the mission, and, in doing so, were allowed to pass.

Land of Waves arc
Sasuke's first major mission was escorting the bridge builder, Tazuna, to his home in the poverty-stricken Land of Waves. Soon after setting out, Sasuke showed exceptional skill when attacked by the Demon Brothers, even taunting Naruto for being shocked and useless during this encounter. When they later had a tree-climbing exercise to improve chakra control, he managed to stay ahead of Naruto for a good length of time, but, as Naruto began to catch up, they started to push each other's limits. His skills improved, Sasuke was able to compete with Haku, who was extremely dangerous because of his extreme speed and dexterity. It was during this battle that Sasuke reawakened the legacy of his clan, the Sharingan, and even selflessly put himself in the way of Haku's attack on Naruto to protect him. Although he claimed his body had moved on its own, his actions showed that he was willing to put himself in mortal danger for Naruto's sake. Although it appeared that Sasuke had died in the process, it was later revealed that he was merely put in a temporary death state.

Chunin Exam arc
Before the Chunin Exam started, Sasuke fought Rock Lee, who easily overcame the power of his Sharingan through an amazing display of speed and taijutsu prowess; for if the user can't physically keep up with the target then the Sharingan is useless. However, before the finishing blow could be given, Might Guy interrupted the match and punished his beloved student for using a forbidden jutsu in a normal fight. In the first part of the exam, Sasuke realized that, to succeed in the written test, it is required to cheat without getting caught, as the written exam tests a ninja's information-gathering ability. Sasuke was shown using the Sharingan to copy the movement of a student in front of him, effectively copying the answers.

In the second test of the Chunin Exam in the Forest of Death, Sasuke was attacked by Orochimaru. Recognizing that they were no match for Orochimaru, Sasuke tried to surrender. However, Naruto stopped him, attacking Orochimaru regardless of the clear difference in strength, and taunting Sasuke just as he had earlier taunted Naruto. This spurred Sasuke into action, giving him the resolve to defeat Orochimaru. Impressed, Orochimaru put his cursed seal on Sasuke's neck during the battle as a reward, causing Sasuke so much pain that he fell unconscious. As the seal attuned to his body, he had nightmares, and, when he woke up, was immersed in its power. He immediately saved Sakura from the attacking Sound Genin, effortlessly defeating them and going so far as to break Zaku's arms. Recognizing that the Cursed Seal had apparently corrupted him, Sakura hugged him and pleaded for him to stop. He relented, and the seal receded. Sasuke was surprised by his own sudden burst of strength.
Sasuke's match up in the preliminaries was against Yoroi Akado. Before the fight started, Kakashi warned Sasuke that, if his Cursed Seal got out of control, which would happen if he used any chakra, he would need to be removed from the competition. The match started with Yoroi absorbing what little chakra Sasuke had left through his hands, and with Sasuke being in constant pain from his Cursed Seal. Having only one option, and remembering his previous encounter with Rock Lee, Sasuke used the Lion Combo. Yoroi was knocked out, and Sasuke advanced to the next round.
Following his win, Kakashi took Sasuke away to seal the Cursed Seal, but made it a point to tell him that the seal would only remain active as long as Sasuke wanted it to. Not convinced that his words would deter Sasuke from seeing the Cursed Seal, and Orochimaru, as a source of power, Kakashi used the month leading up to the final rounds to teach him the Chidori. At the same time, knowing Sasuke would be facing Gaara, he helped Sasuke to emulate some of Lee's speed. After showing up late for his match with Gaara, Sasuke demonstrated the fruits of his training, even managing to break through Gaara's defenses and injure him. Before the match could finish, however, it was interrupted by the start of Orochimaru's attack on Konoha.

Invasion of Konoha arc
With the start of the invasion, Gaara fled the village with his siblings, and Sasuke was sent after them by Genma. Sasuke chased them and, after short battles with Kankuro and Temari, Sasuke caught up with and fought Gaara. Sasuke used Chidori, once again managing to wound Gaara, who by now had started to transform into his Shukaku state. The form, however, allowed Gaara to quickly recuperate from the attack, putting Sasuke on the defensive since he no longer had the chakra reserves to use Chidori again. With Gaara's resolve to kill him growing increasingly stronger, Sasuke had no choice but to tap into the Cursed Seal in order to use another Chidori. However, this had no effect against Gaara, and Sasuke was left exhausted. Unable to move, Sasuke was saved by the prompt arrival of Sakura and Naruto. Sasuke watched Naruto's fight with Gaara unfold, becoming jealous of Naruto once he claimed victory.

Return of Itachi arc
After the failed invasion, Sasuke went to see Kakashi. When he arrived at Kakashi's house, he found Kakashi in a coma. Although nobody in the room was willing to tell him what had happened, Aoba Yamashiro soon arrived and let slip that Itachi had returned to the village in search of Naruto. Determined to find Itachi and to save Naruto (by order of priority), Sasuke tracked his teammate down and found that Itachi was already there. Despite his best efforts, including the use of Chidori, none of his attacks were able to hit Itachi. Itachi tormented Sasuke physically and mentally, belittling him for still being too weak, eventually leaving Sasuke with a broken wrist and mind. Sasuke then fell into the same coma-like state as Kakashi, and it was not until Tsunade returned to Konoha that he recovered.

Angry that Itachi was still so much stronger than he was, and envious of the fact that Naruto had gotten stronger in such a short period of time, Sasuke challenged Naruto to a fight. Although they were stopped by Kakashi, their brief exchange was enough to show Sasuke that Naruto's Rasengan was more damaging than his Chidori. Kakashi lectured him about using Chidori on his own friends, but, before this could fully sink in, Sasuke was confronted by Orochimaru's Sound Four, each of whom had their own Cursed Seal. Amazed by their abilities, which they claimed to have received from Orochimaru, Sasuke was left with their offer of escorting him to Orochimaru so that he could get stronger.
To gain the power he so desperately wanted, Sasuke decided to take Orochimaru up on his offer, turning his back on Konoha in the process. As he snuck out of the village, Sakura found him, and soon understood the magnitude of what he was about to do. Desperate not to lose Sasuke, Sakura did anything and everything she could think of, confessing her love for him and even offering to help exact revenge on Itachi. Sasuke's cryptic last words before swiftly knocking her out and departing were, "Sakura ... thank you." Sasuke left with the Sound Four, who soon afterwards advanced his Cursed Seal to its second level, a process that left him unconscious for most of their battle with the Sasuke Retrieval Team.
Soon after Sasuke woke up, he was found by Naruto. Sasuke was glad to see Naruto; after slaughtering the Uchiha clan, Itachi had told Sasuke that he would only be able to match him in battle after he had obtained the Mangekyo Sharingan, which could only be attained by killing one's best friend, which was now Naruto for Sasuke. Naruto refused to accept that Sasuke would do this or his other reasons for pursuing Orochimaru, choosing instead to drag Sasuke back to the village by force if he had to. They subsequently engaged in battle, with Sasuke initially having the upper hand thanks to his Cursed Seal and Sharingan. When he managed to pierce Naruto's right shoulder with his Chidori, however, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's chakra kicked in to protect Naruto, giving him a massive power increase.
With the Nine-Tails' chakra now active, Naruto easily tossed Sasuke about in an attempt to knock some sense into him. Sasuke merely retorted that Naruto could never understand what it was like to lose family members, as he had never had them to begin with. Naruto reasoned that Sasuke was like a brother to him, therefore he would not let him destroy that bond. Sasuke's Sharingan evolved to its final level at that point, tipping the battle in Sasuke's favor because he was able to predict Naruto's movements. The Nine-Tails' chakra once again came to Naruto's rescue, enveloping him in a fox-shaped shield of chakra and boosting his power once more.

With the Nine-Tails' chakra shield, Naruto was again more than Sasuke could handle, even with his Cursed Seal active. To counter Naruto's power, Sasuke activated the second stage of his Cursed Seal, becoming a demonic figure with a pair of huge, hand-like wings sprouting from his back. Naruto attacked with his signature Rasengan (enhanced by the Nine-Tails' chakra) and Sasuke attacked with his Chidori (also enhanced by his current state). Upon impact, a massive dome of black energy formed around them. Sasuke punched Naruto in the chest at the last second (instead of impaling him with what was left of his Chidori) and knocked him out, while Naruto opted to scratch Sasuke's forehead protector, something Sasuke had said he wouldn't be able to do at the start of the fight.
After the energy dome dissipated, Sasuke was shown to be the victor, now standing over an unconscious Naruto. He considered killing Naruto, but realized that doing so would be exactly what Itachi wanted him to do. Leaving behind his forehead protector, which had fallen off after Naruto's last attack, Sasuke made his way to Orochimaru. While doing so, Sasuke resolved to surpass Itachi in his own way, instead of relying on the same skill Itachi used.

Shippuden Arcs:

Sasuke and Sai arc

Sasuke debuted in Part II during a meeting with his replacement in Team 7, Sai. Sasuke wasn't interested in the slightest, and was more interested in Orochimaru's presence. When Sai stated that he might be able to get along better with Sasuke than he did with Naruto, Sasuke froze him with a stare, catching Sai in a genjutsu exuding a large amount of killing intent.[3] Sai was amazed that even an emotionless person such as himself was affected by Sasuke's gaze, showing the power of his Sharingan. When Sai commented on how Naruto and Sakura had been searching for him, Sasuke once again regarded him with indifference.
Later, when Sai entered his room while he was resting, he told Sasuke that he wanted to repair his and Naruto's bond together. Sasuke then blew up the room, angered that he had been woken up to hear about bonds, his action drawing Naruto and Sakura to their location. Despite this being the first time in three years that they had seen each other, Sasuke expressed his usual indifference towards his former team.[4] Uninterested in going home with them, Sasuke engaged them in battle, showing off his increase in speed and improved abilities. They were little match for him, causing Naruto to begin struggling with the Nine-Tails' chakra. Sasuke used his Sharingan to enter Naruto's mind to meet the Nine-Tails itself, finally discovering the source of Naruto's strength, and managing to suppress its influence. Before releasing Naruto, the Nine-Tails warned Sasuke to not kill Naruto, or he would live to regret it forever.[5] Back outside, Sasuke decided to finish off his former teammates, only to be stopped by Orochimaru. Listening to Orochimaru's plan to use them to thin Akatsuki's numbers, he left with Orochimaru and Kabuto.


Hunt for Itachi arc

Orochimaru tested Sasuke's abilities by having him battle hundreds of Sound ninja, a task he completed without taking a scratch and without killing any of them. About the latter, Sasuke remarked that the only person he wanted to kill was Itachi. Soon afterwards he attacked Orochimaru, deciding that there was nothing else that he could learn and that Orochimaru was unworthy of having his body or the Sharingan. Although Sasuke appeared victorious after a brief scuffle, Orochimaru was able to initiate the body-stealing jutsu. Sasuke, however, was able to reverse the process, absorbing Orochimaru into his body.
With Orochimaru gone, Sasuke began forming a team of Orochimaru's former subordinates and test subjects who would help him find and kill Itachi. He recruited Suigetsu, Karin, and Jugo under the name of Hebi, offering each something in exchange for their help. They split up to see what they could learn about Itachi's whereabouts. Sasuke soon ran into Akatsuki members Deidara and Tobi. With his Sharingan, he was able to counter all of Deidara's attacks, and then questioned him about Itachi. Rather than admit defeat, Deidara blew himself up, and it was only by using Manda as a shield that Sasuke managed to escape the blast. Sasuke was forced to rest afterwards but, when well enough to walk, Hebi investigated a known Akatsuki lair. There, Sasuke found Itachi.
Sasuke fought Itachi, showing how he had grown since their last encounter in the process. Although it was only a shadow clone, Sasuke's efforts impressed Itachi enough that he agreed to a meeting where they would have their final battle. He went to the Abandoned Uchiha Stronghold, leaving the rest of Hebi outside, and first spoke with Itachi. Itachi told him about the Mangekyo Sharingan's history and about Madara Uchiha, the man who had told him the secret of Sharingan and had helped him slaughter the Uchiha clan. Having learned all he wanted to know, Sasuke began a battle of genjutsu with Itachi. Once Sasuke was able to overcome Itachi's Tsukuyomi, they switched+ to a ninjutsu battle.

While exchanging fire-based jutsu, Itachi's Amaterasu ignited the surrounding area, along with Sasuke. Itachi stopped the flames by closing his eye, while Sasuke regenerated any damage taken in the process by using Orochimaru's Oral Rebirth Technique, giving him the opportunity to prepare his trump card, Kirin. Itachi managed to survive this technique by using his Susanoo. With Sasuke's chakra reserves depleted, Orochimaru was able to force himself out of Sasuke's body, ready to finally take the body he had coveted. Itachi promptly sealed Orochimaru away with Susanoo before approaching Sasuke. Rather than taking Sasuke's eyes, however, he only poked his forehead as he had done in their childhood before falling over, dead. The victory he had dreamed of having become a reality, Sasuke passed out from exhaustion.
Sasuke woke up in a cave in the care of Tobi, who was in reality Madara Uchiha. Madara tried to befriend Sasuke by removing his mask and revealing his Sharingan eye, something that caused Itachi's Mangekyo Sharingan to form in Sasuke's left eye and made him use Amaterasu on Madara, who quickly retreated into the darkness of the cave. After stopping the black flames, Madara then appeared again with his mask and began to muse about how Itachi never ceased to amaze him.[6] As Sasuke asked what he was talking about, Madara revealed that Itachi had most likely set it up so that the sight of his Sharingan would trigger the Amaterasu he had sealed within Sasuke. As Sasuke complained that he was making no sense, Madara revealed that it had been to protect him, and, when Sasuke still didn't believe him, Madara said how it must all sound crazy, but assured him that he was telling the truth, and introduced himself as the man who had helped Itachi on that fateful night. As Sasuke still doubted him, Madara went on to explain the Uchiha's history, Itachi's childhood, and the truth behind the massacre of the Uchiha clan: that it had been done on Konoha's orders. Itachi had defied orders by sparing Sasuke, threatening Konoha in order to keep him safe and playing the villain so that Sasuke would someday kill him to avenge their family.
As Madara reached the end of his story, he stated that the only reason Itachi had pushed Sasuke so hard during their fight was to bring Orochimaru out. By doing this, he was able to seal Orochimaru away and erase his influence and taint, as well as the Cursed Seal on Sasuke's neck. Itachi had always planned to die at Sasuke's hands, and had orchestrated everything to make Sasuke stronger, culminating in his own death, thus killing the closest person to Sasuke and awakening his own Mangekyo Sharingan. Sasuke initially refused to believe this, but then remembered the memories of Itachi that he had blocked out; of Itachi being a loving brother. Crushed by the fact that the brother he had hated for so long was still the loving brother he grew up with, Sasuke swore vengeance on Konoha and resolved to destroy it to avenge them both.

Before Hebi, now renamed Taka, could attack Konoha, Madara convinced them to start working with Akatsuki. He sent them to the Land of Thunder to capture the Eight-Tailed Giant Ox, where they found its host, Killer Bee. The capture attempt got off to a bad start, as Killer Bee easily defeated both Suigetsu and Jugo, and wounded Sasuke by impaling him in the chest with multiple swords. Sasuke was rescued and healed by Karin, and the team decided to all attack at once. While they had more success, Killer Bee released a great deal of the Eight-Tails' chakra and created a chakra cloak. When Sasuke failed a Genjutsu on Killer Bee (who easily shook the attack off), the latter retaliated with great force, using the Eight-Tails' power to blow Sasuke's neck and chest apart. While Sasuke was down, Killer Bee fully transformed into the beast sealed within him, leaving Taka outclassed. Suigetsu then sacrificed himself to give Jugo time to heal Sasuke by fusing some of his own flesh with Sasuke's. Fearing the deaths of his teammates, Sasuke unleashed his new Mangekyo Sharingan and Amaterasu to capture Killer Bee.
Sasuke delivered Killer Bee to Madara (although this was later discovered to be a fake) before regrouping with Taka. While resting, they dealt with a Kumo ninja who had been following them. However, when Sasuke tipped over a glass of water, he learned that his eyesight was already starting to deteriorate. He opted to keep this revelation from the team.


Summit of the Five Kage arc

Before finally setting out for Konoha, Sasuke retrieved Suigetsu's sword. Unfortunately, he soon learned from Madara that Konoha had been recently destroyed by Pain, who in turn had been brought down by Naruto (going as far as to point out that Naruto might even be stronger than Sasuke). After learning that Danzo had been made acting Sixth Hokage, and was scheduled to meet with the other Kage, Sasuke changed plans to go to the summit and exact his revenge upon Danzo. Also, Danzo has labelled him a major Konohagakure missing-nin criminal, yet in the meeting to come, Mifune labels him as an "international criminal".
He and his team then followed Zetsu to the meeting place. When Jugo asked whether Zetsu could be trusted, Sasuke replied that he would use Amaterasu if necessary, as there was something he would like to test out. After reaching the Land of Iron, Taka found that it was heavily guarded, prompting Sasuke to order Jugo to find a less-guarded route. Sasuke and his team along with Zetsu went to the less-guarded area. After being asked by Sasuke, Zetsu shows him which of the Kage is Danzo and his Sharingan activates.
Zetsu went ahead to the meeting, and Sasuke wasn't aware of it. Zetsu then states that Sasuke is somewhere around the meeting. Sasuke is then shown fighting off the samurai as they went around searching for him. Karin notices that Sasuke's chakra had become "darker than his cursed seal second state" and colder. Just as he defeated the samurai using some unknown technique, the Raikage emerges through the ceiling with his bodyguards. He yells for Sasuke that he is to learn to fear his wrath and he and Sasuke prepare to fight one another.

Wazima lazily looked up at the sun, smiling, there was something about the sun in sunagakure that made him happy, after being brought up in Kirigakure the sun had always been a rare sight, and when it did rarely come out, the day was always amazing, the normal mist that hung over the city thinned, the numerous missing-nin stayed inside bars and taverns, not wanting to face the sun, whether it was to avoid being seen, or to avoid the sun. He remembered running around, avoiding the numerous ninja training there mist skills, but instead fighting with the other genin. Wazima snapped out of his flash back, focusing on the mission at hand. He was hidden in a tree, not the best place to hide, but his presence was hidden, as was body, and hiding in a tree was better than nothing. He sat in the tree enjoying being up high, and feeling the warm wind on his face, but as much as he loved sunagakure, there were some things he hated about it. The lack of water, which not only made forty percent of his jutsu difficult or useless to use, but also his mist justsu were in the same boat. Due to that lack of water, the trees were missing, and somehting about that was disscomforting, after spending twenty years in Kirigakure, a lack of trees discomforted him. He shook his head, focusing on his mission.

He had to escort a very important prince to his home country. He had been in the tree for a near two hours now, and he was starting to think that they weren't coming, of course this was the rendezvous point, so they could've been harmed on the way there. He doubted it though, he was a very important person, and he didn't have many enemies, still. He sat there perfectly still, and perfectly hidden, he was meditating, focusing on his chakra, letting it flow out around him, he would know when anyone came near, he extended his range up the track seeing if he could sense the prince. He jumped forward's, unsure of whether or not his mission would end up being completed. He stopped sending his chakra forwards, seeing if he could sense them, he realised that this method wasn't working, so he jumped up, sending chakra to his eyes as he tried to see them using thermal vision. He landed, unable to see them, he deactivated the thermal eyes, as his thermal vision faded, he saw them, turning the corner. He realized why he couldn't see them or sense them, the prince was surrounded by gaurds, all of which seemed to be able of harnessing chakra, there were also a chuunin and a genin, both of which must have been supplying the shield, the body guards were supplying the chakra, making it impossible to sense them with out keen sight. He jumped backwards, making sure he wouldn't be seen, he stopped five feet away from the rendezvous point, before remembering his hidden presence.

Wazima sat up high in the tree, in the familiar position he had spent a good two hours in, before trying to find the prince he would escort. It had taken them a good fifteen minutes to make it that fair. So that's why they took so long, there protection comes at a price, it severely reduces their speed. He sat silently, waiting for them to make it to the destination. He looked around taking in his current surroundings. Fire wasn't a problem, but water would end up being one. There wasn't water anywhere, and what was there was barely sufficient to create a mizu bunshin. Besides that all there was were a dirt road, and the occasional tree or shrew. He looked up, expecting the prince to be there by now, but they were slow, they were almost here, but it would take a minute. He focused on all the scenery there was, trying to find a way to use laughter of loki, there was a chance of doing it, but that would require him to move the water into a physical shape, he had an idea, by throwing an exploding kunai, he could knock over a tree, giving him a wider surface to rebound off. He looked at the group, moving forward. He focused at the tree behind them, before firing a kunai at one of its bigger branches, slicing it clean off. The large branch fell, it would not hurt the prince, it may hurt some of bodyguards, but he could easily save them, not only that, but there were to ninja there with them. The branch fell, he had already perceived where the barrier would be, but what happened next made it amazingly clear, the barrier had physical substance, it deflected the log, which promptly caught on fire. Wazima was unsure, he had never dealt with this type of situation before, but he thought he knew how to stop, the barrier would have a weak point, but the only way to find out how to do so, would be to test it out. The parties movement had slowed even more, the act of deflecting the log had drained their speed. So thats how the barrier works, it strength and physical substance take up speed. It can't be that easy, they'll have a trick up there sleeve. He didn't think they had realized his presence yet. His kunai was fast and accurate, but what if they had noticed that he was there? He decided to keep up a path in which he didn't reveal himself. He needed another idea, it would be hard to make more realistic 'accidents' and he had no idea how he was going to do it. He decided on a course of action, it wouldn't look like an accident, but they diffidently wouldn't realize it was him.

He pulled eight kunai out, before revealing the wire attached to them, he found an angle that would fit his purposes, before throwing with perfect accuracy. The kunai flung around another train a while away, before spinning around the back of the tree and getting stuck there.

On top of that, the user would be, most likely, interacting with the environment. This puts much mental strain on the inexperienced ninja.

Susanoo is a technique that creates a spiritual being resembling a yamabushi. It wields the sacred Yata no Kagami (八咫鏡, Eight Span Mirror), a mirror that's considered one of the three sacred treasures capable of reflecting all attacks, as a shield in its left hand. In its right, the legendary Totsuka no Tsurugi (十拳剣, Ten Hands Long Sword), also known as the Sakenagi Longsword (酒刈太刀, Sakenagi no Tachi; Sake Cutter Longsword), is held. The Totsuka no Tsurugi, commonly sheathed in a sake jar held by a third hand growing from Susanoo's right forearm, is an ethereal weapon with an enchanted blade capable of sealing anything it pierces in an eternal dream-like illusion, and is described as the perfect counter to Orochimaru's Kusanagi Sword.[2] Like the Amaterasu, and Tsukuyomi, Susanoo is an ability of the Mangekyo Sharingan. Zetsu said that Susanoo's Totsuka Sword combined with the Yata mirror essentially makes Itachi invincible.
The Sword itself can be presumed as an extension added to the technique as Zetsu mentioned that "Where ever he (Orochimaru) searched he could never find it". It is also possible the Mirror can be another extension, as Zetsu also mentioned that it is another legendary item, on par with the Sword.
Like the other Mangekyo Sharingan techniques, Susanoo comes with its own risks. To keep Susanoo sustained in the physical realm, the user must act as a medium for the deity, allowing it to consume their life force energy. This puts a severe strain on the user's body and prolonged use will lead to their death.

Description: The user will begin to charge fire chakra into either hand then cast it up to the quickly gathering clouds. The liquids will mix with the fire chakra creating a napalm like substance. From here it will begin to rain the residue and with a snap of the user's fingers the rain will begin to catch fire and spread almost instantly. This jutsu is near impossible to avoide since it's rain. Should an opponet be hit the liquid will continue to burn through their clothing. This liquid burns on average for 2 1/2 minutes before fizzling out. The differance is that this cover's a 1/4 mile area making it harder to avoid. Shunshin is impossible to use as well as Replacement jutsu. The rain drops now fall at twice the speed like a true rain storm. The user is uneffected by the rain drop's as part of the jutsu is to have them fall around every thing but him. This storm will last for 2 1/2 posts.

Name: Fire Style, Rising Mud Jutsu

Description: By using fire chakra to produce heat in the ground, mud or other
similar substances bubble up and form bubbles filled with intense heat. When these bubbles are popped, the heat explodes out and causes minor burns to an opponent. Although a single bubble creates minor burns, enough bubbles can induce serious burn damage to a target.
These bubbles, being made of a heavier substance than water, cannot rise higher than a couple feet off the ground, maximum height being about 7 feet above the ground. The bubbles created all float in the air in random positions and random heights, causing a floating mine field of bubbles to appear above the viscous fluid.

Name: Kaji Bunshin no Jutsu; Fire Clone Technique

Description: Kaji Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes fire to create a Bunshin clone. Unlike a normal Bunshin, the Kaji Bunshin has the ability to interact more with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target. The range of the clone is limited however, it can not travel very far from the original body. If the Kaji Bunshin is injured, the clone will usually revert back into embers.

Description: A ninja is able to use Fire chakra to touch a metal weapon and melt it away into liquid, making it often unusable by the wielder. This jutsu can only destroy weapons that are of the same, or lower rank, than this jutsu, and does not effect weapons that channel fire, or have a fire affinity. Weapons of the same rank as this jutsu require 2 posts of physical contact to completely melt away.

Name: Katon Ame (Fire Rain)

Description: Gabriale learned this jutsu personally from trying to be just like his Great-Grandfather. This jutsu is where Gabriale recieve the name Rain, well part of the reason. The air above will have some sort of moistur in it already, Gabriale will begin to charge fire chakra into either hand then cast it up to the quickly gathering clouds. The liquids will mix with the fire chakra creating a napalm like substance. From here it will begin to rain the residue and with a snap of Gabriale's fingers the rain will begin to catch fire and spread almost instantly. This jutsu is near impossible to avoide since it's rain. Should an opponet be hit the liquid will continue to burn through their clothing. This liquid burns on average for 2 1/2 minutes before fizzling out. This covers a 15 meter area. Often the opponet will begin to get hit by large amount of the fast dropping rain drops and get bogged down to their death. This will last for 2 posts. Gabriale is uneffected by the rain drop's as part of the jutsu is to have them fall around every thing but him.

Description: A jutsu on which the user creates a chakra made sphere of lightning energy in his hands, and throws it to the opponent, giving him a strong electric jolt. This lightning ball will be heavy and thrown in a lateral direction.

Name: Kiba Kyuu no Jutsu

Description: The evolution of Raiton Raikyuu, this time, the sphere turns into a piercing fang when thrown at the opponent giving him not only lightning damage, but also a small piercing wound. If this jutsu hits a preexisting wound, then the opponent will experience immense pain and the muscles in that area will spasm uncontrollably for one post.

Name: Raiton Bunshin no Jutsu

Description: Raiton Kage Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes lightning to create a Kage Bunshin clone. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target. If the Raiton Kage Bunshin is injured, the clone will revert into its natural lightning state. Like in other Lightning Element attacks, should the target come into contact with the electricity, they will be momentarily stunned.

Description: The user’s body is surrounded by an electric shield from the user’s, which can protect the user from Taijutsu. Any one who tries to hit him will be electrocuted and sent back. However, if the Taijutsu is powerful enough, then it can break through. Also, Hyuuga techniques can penetrate this shield. This will last for one post, due to the nature of the technique, and the user is rendered immobile.


Name: Raiton Kago no jutsu

Description: First the user concentrates their chakra into a ball of lightning above their head. The ball is of moderate size, like a dodgeball. This will begin to rotate, and each successful turn, a small bar of lightning will be propelled forth in any direction the user chooses. This is very fast. This jutsu may be used for defense for it is very hard get past the bars. It also is very effective at dispersing large crowds around you.

Description: A ninja with a Lightning affinity touches an easily conductive material and inserts an electric charge into the object. The strength of the charge varies according to rank, but all charges do not activate or show themselves until the ninja makes a gesture to activate the stored energy, releasing it and damaging those near the object, also according to rank.
C Rank: A minor electrical charge may be stored, damages those who are in contact with the affected object. Causes 1 post paralysis if hit.
B Rank: A moderate electrical charge may be stored, bursts out in a 5ft burst of energy, causes 1 post paralysis if hit.
A Rank: A powerful electrical charge may be stored, bursts out in a 10ft burst of energy, causes 1 post paralysis if hit and is slightly lethal, meaning if the target were in water or something else easily conductive, the charge could kill them.

This jutsu's only real use is for breaking genjutsu, since it hurts the user instead of a target.

Description: A basic Raiton technique. The user must perform two hand seals while gathering chakra either in a concentrated spot or all throughout their body. This part may be performed as much as thirty seconds in advance of the actual attack and held in till released. Upon release a high voltage shock will either travel through the point of concentration or through the body as a whole, delivering a shock capable of stunning and causing uncontrollable muscle spasms in the victim. To be hit by this technique a person must be either in contact or withing three feet of the user under normal conditions. While under water this effect widens substantially to withing ten feet of the user. This technique is incapacitating for a full ten seconds (meaning two combat posts) and is strong enough to stop a human heart if concentrated and directed correctly. As the effects wear off a person may feel a burning or tingling sensation all over their body, though the technique does not physically leave more then first degree burns even when focused.

The user performs the two seals and concentrates their chakra into their hands creating a negative charge in their hands opposite a positive charge in the air, created by the release of chakra from the body. The two charges create an area extending one foot away from the charged hands of the user that is filled with miniature lightening. The lightening creates a bright white flash that is capable of blinding, and creates a pressure wave that sweeps forward in a 180 degree ark from one side of the user to the other. The pressure wave can rupture ear drums and at close to medium range can knock a person off their feet (melee-20ft aprox). If a person is actually within the foot range of the hands severe electrocution will follow. This technique is built to disorient, not as a melee attack.

Description: A basic lightning jutsu requiring the use of two hand seals. The shinobi performs the hand seals and uses elemental manipulation to convert their chakra to the lightning element. Then the user transfers the energy into the ground to any spot of their desire within 50 feet of their current position. When activated with a release seal from the user that area, consisting of a three foot diameter circle, will explode due to rapid expansion from heating from the electricity running through the dirt and rock. This is near the strength of an explosive tag when the spot chosen is just normal dirt; however, if a small to medium sized rock outcrop or pile of earth were on top of the chosen location the blast becomes much stronger. Composition of ground is important when using this technique as rock will create small fragments that act akin to shrapnel, while plain dirt will act more like a concussion grenade. This technique can be used against constructs created by earth specializing ninja.

Description: A long range technique requiring four hand seals. The user builds up an electrical charge, usually in the hands, via elemental manipulation of lightning chakra. This is done while the hand seals are being performed and can be seen by electricity arcing between the hands. The user then simply directs their attack by pointing at the spot they wish to attack, unleashing a blast of lightening from said pointing finger at the target. This attack is strong enough to severely burn the point of impact, throw a person several feet through the air, or make rock formations explode as they rapidly are heated. As usual with a lightning element there is a considerable shock at the end of this lightening bolt. People hit often lose consciousness, convulse, froth at the mouth, smoke from the hair, and can possibly have their heart stopped. This jutsu is effective at up to 100 feet away, but becomes less accurate over distance. At 50 feet it is very accurate, at 75, moderately, and at 100 it requires some luck to hit a person sized target.

Description: A technique that requires four hand seals. The ninja uses elemental manipulation to disperse lightning chakra into the air, creating a highly charged environment for 150 feet in all directions from the user. This zone is prone to static discharge and can be triggered by the smallest of movement. The discharge isn't harmful more then getting shocked on a car door in a windy day, instead this shock alerts the user of the static field to the position of the discharge, making this zone almost impossible to hide in effectively. This technique acts as a sort of radar for the user, giving him a sixth sense that can't be fooled by traditional genjutsu. However, this does have its disadvantage in that the field cannot distinguish what created the discharge, often getting discharge off of nearby animal life or teammates. The more objects the user has to track at once the more stressful a situation can be, leading to headaches if the user is subject to many discharge sources over an extended period of time. Lasts five posts before the user must recharge the field with more chakra or let the jutsu end.

This it speeds up the synaptic connections in their brain, allowing the user to think and move in excess of ten times faster than usual. Additionally, any organic being that comes into contact with the user while he/she is in this form will receive a severe electric shock. The technique can be dangerous if used carelessly, because too much electricity will cause permanent damage to the connections. In this form, the user crackles with electricity and leaves a spark when they move at speed.

Description: The user forms a couple of hand seals before quickly gathering lightning chakra in each hand. Swiping both hands at the target will then cause ten separate channels of lightning surging towards a target or targets. The direction of each lightning channel can be controlled by the user. Once each one leaves the user’s hand, it takes the form of a feral wolf. Until the attack is complete, the ‘wolves’ leave trails of lightning leading back to the user’s hand. Upon contact, each ‘wolf’ explodes with enormous electrical force, sending wave upon wave of deadly lightning blasting through the target’s body and the surrounding area. Like similarly powerful Raiton techniques, it is said that the lightning in this jutsu can pierce any material or object.

Kirin is an extremely powerful, one-shot lightning technique that strikes in the blink of an eye. The user draws lightning directly from thunder clouds to supplement the power of his or her strike, and controls it with chakra. Because the technique uses natural lightning as opposed to elemental chakra, its power easily outmatches all other Lightning Releases. However, the preparation time required also decreases the technique's efficiency. This technique in the absence of active thunder clouds requires Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique or other such techniques to produce the necessary storm conditions to initiate it.
To initiate a lightning storm, and then to take control of lightning in order to guide it to a target while using the shape manipulation shown above, drained even Sasuke of most of his chakra, however, the manipulation itself seems to require little chakra, as evidenced by Itachi who claimed Sasuke was out of chakra (and by Sasuke who confirmed it). In addition, usage seems to destroy the thunder clouds as the sky cleared up of clouds after use. As such, this technique can only be used once in a fight. However, natural lightning can reach a temperature of 30,000 °C, so that even if it misses the target, the sizable blast will likely eliminate the enemy.

Repeated strikes will cause more serious effects, similar to a speed up acid rain, eventually corroding the flesh off an opponent within 5 posts.

Once the target is caught, the user can remove the ropes from their hands and attach them to a solid object instead – they will hold just as sturdily but allow the user to perform other techniques.

Description: Kage Bunshin is a Jounin level Ninjutsu technique. When Naruto stole the scroll of seals, he learned this technique as well. The normal Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja that lacks any substance. The Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and creates a real copy with form and substance. The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. This makes Kage Bunshin an excellent training method if the ninja has the chakra capacity and stamina to maintain the Kage Bunshins for an extended period of time. This allows the ninja to essentially reduce the time it takes to train and learn with each clone added. This is especially true when used with Tajuu Kage Bunshin.

This occurs over a course of five posts as the user appears more and more demonic until they look like a full demon. Ninja who are not used to demons or the undead are paralyzed with fear for 1 post upon this jutsu’s use.

This Genjustu causes the damage dealt in the illusion to seem very real, and can confuse a ninja who sees the user using jutsu that would normally not be possible.

Description: A jutsu usable only to masters of Genjutsu. This jutsu sends out a burst of chakra, similar to that which is used for Genjutsu, though it lacks form and direction. Any Genjutsu that is affecting the target, or Genjutsu being used within a 25ft radius around the user, is distorted and the effects of which begin to alter according to this jutsu’s user’s desires when this jutsu is used. A ninja may not use the same alteration twice, giving the jutsu its name of Chaos Bursting.
Humorous ninja have been known to take serious Genjutsu like Tree Binding Death and replace the tree with a rubber duck, confusing the opponent and canceling the Genjutsu’s typical effects.

Description: Apparently unique to Shisui Uchiha, this technique allows the user to control the mind of their opponent. It was a dōjutsu of the highest class, as the victim doesn't even realise they are being manipulated.
Danzō gained access to this dōjutsu by implanting Shisui's Sharingan into his right eye-socket. He subsequently used it to manipulate Mifune into almost giving him the supreme command of the alliance of the Five Villages.
It also seems that unlike a number of other Sharingan related techniques, it doesn't require direct eye contact, as Danzō never removed the bandages that hid it from view.

Description: A more powerful version or crush. By getting into an elevated position over a target, the user raises their blade into the sky and strikes it down unto the target. Description: A more powerful version of puncture. By taking a few running steps towards an opponent, the user will swing or stab their blade into the target causing lethal damage to organs. Description: By taking a running leap, the user will bound forwards several feet. While in the air, they will take aim of an enemy and use sheer force to bring their blade downwards. Strength of the user and weight of the weapon matter in the power of the swing, and with the combined velocity the blow can split skulls. This is a stronger version of Pummel. This can be easily blocked by another kenjutsu fighter at A rank.

This is a hard attack to set up since it is slower then a typical thrust, but is usually considered lethal. It is possible to parry a skewer, but the force of the blow is often strong enough to drive the defending weapon back into the user and allow the polearm to continue at least partly into the defender. If the user is particularly strong this attack can go through one person to hit another behind them.

However, defending a counter attack poses a problem due to its speed.

Description:The succession technique. Normally, when using the Battou-Jutsu, the right leg is placed in front of the left leg so to avoid cutting your own leg (since the sword is at the left side). However, at the very last moment of attack, the user places his or her LEFT leg in front of his or her RIGHT leg before drawing his sword, thus bringing the speed and might of the sword to its very maximum. At that very moment, he or she must calculate the MOMENT of attack and how to twist his or her body properly in order not to cut Himself or herself. The power and speed of this battoujutsu is almost unsurpassable. If, by chance, the opponent is able to block or parry the attack, the force of the first attack will cause a vaccum to be formed in the area of the hit. The vaccum pulls the opponent in closer to the user, which allows them to spin around and deliver another strike that has even more force than the first. To do this, he or she must possess a strong desire to live. This attack can only be used once per week because of the enormus strain it puts on the body. It also drains a huge amount of energy.

Essentially a belly to back piledriver, the move can provide a great concussion to their opponent's head.

Chidori Variations

Name: Chidori Current

Description: A variation on a regular Chidori developed by Sasuke Uchiha during his two-and-a-half year training with Orochimaru, this jutsu allows the user to generate non-focused electrically charged chakra from his body, instead of concentrating it in his hand. Because the electricity isn't focused, it doesn't kill on contact, instead only paralyzing its victims. By sending the current into the ground Sasuke can stun opponents from a distance. Sasuke can also channel the electricity through metallic weapons like his Kusanagi sword, increasing their cutting power, as well as making body parts numb by cutting them.

Description: Sasuke reshapes the Chidori in his hand into the form of countless senbon. It has more specialized speed than the normal Chidori and can cause damage throughout multiple places on the body. Chidori Senbon can become even more effective by using it together with the Sharingan, allowing one to precisely shoot for the enemy's vital points.

Description: Sasuke increases the range of his Chidori by using form manipulation to extend it into a blade up to 10 meters in length. This blade is capable of splitting into multiple additional blades upon contact with an enemy, drastically increasing the number of wounds it can inflict. However, each of these additional blades is proportionally weaker than a single focused Chidori. Like other Chidori-related techniques, this jutsu will numb any target it hits.

Description: Sasuke uses his chokuto sword to channel an extremely powerful Chidori capable of shocking anything in its path. It appears to have an even greater range than Chidori Current, making it more effective in battle. It can be noted that this technique is more of a use on water, because the electric chakra produced is carried on the entire surface making it more difficult for the enemy to avoid it.
